Life through the lens...

Garden Trail.

While fellow blipper Northernlass and my friend Margaret and I went on the Upper Hopton Garden Trail,  Northernlass's hubby and mine went to watch the cricket in Mirfield.
Needless to say we all had a wonderful day.
Although theirs was sitting, where as we walked miles!

There were certainly some stunning and very varied gardens.
One even contained an old graveyard ( see extra)
Some quirky like the Loos in the main collage.
One with the ultimate tree house ( main collage)
A secret garden behind a little terrace house. Full of treasures collected from far and wide.
We were really thirsty by this time, and so the kind owner made us all a coffee. We all felt we could have sat there all day..
However there were still lots more gardens to see.

After a stop for refreshments at about 2pm we were ready to continue.
The dull morning had turned into a glorious afternoon. If anything a bit too hot. ( Suited the cricket watchers!)

Next were several houses on a little lane, with wonderful views towards Mirfield.
This included a fabulous house and garden with a most unusual and beautiful water fountain. ( centre collage) This was in the middle of a very large pond full of huge carp, and with stepping stones across.
Also lovely sculpture of two hares. ( see  collage) Wonderful seating areas, BBQ in its own building, summer house, and then a view over to the Pennines and  Emley Moor mast.

Still more gardens to see, but by 4pm it was closing time, and so the last two will have to wait until next year.

I have notes of lots of new plants I liked including the clematis
"Princess Diana" which was my favourite. ( see collage)  Exquisite shape and colour.
Also loved a wind sculpture ( see extra collage) the lady had bought this year from the Malvern Show.

A lovely day had by us all.
Nice to relax back at chez Northernlass's house with a cuppa.
The boys had also just got back from cricket. They too had enjoyed their day. ( away from us girls!)

Look forward to next time!
