Four of Quite a Few

This being the first Saturday of the month I had a go at the Instagram challenge #1day12pics. I took rather more than twelve.

These are four, although only three used. We recently planted a Gertrude Jeckyll rose in a container, fine so far. The flowers dappled with drops of water by this morning’s rain, which I liked. In contrast to the shot of our Thalictrum reaching for the blue sky at the end of the day.

In between, a trip to Manchester. J has some birthday shopping to do, I cannot imagine who for. I popped into the Cathedral en route elsewhere. It was a signing choir festival and a lady was giving feedback on the first four choirs. Interesting. And another blipper, NellieD, is involved and has posted a blip and performance clip, which is really good.

The other shot is the Peterloo tapestry, currently installed in the cathedral. I imagine it will leave in August for the commemoration of the event and it’s aftermath. We are going to hear a lot of quotes from Percy Blythe Shelley’s “The Masque of Anarchy” in coming weeks I suspect. Hopefully we’ve come a long way since 1819, when the government of the day banned the poem because of its subversive content.
