Oh goodness me, what a gorgeous church at St Agostini. Treasures along every inch of the walls. Beautiful frescoes and sculpture from the 13thcentury. Unfortunately we were thrown out when it closed for lunch but badly in need of a revisit.

There’s a little craftsman silversmith in town, working in a tiny studio workshop. When you ask to see a piece in a display cabinet he tells you to help yourself and then goes out into the street to get a signal for the credit card machine leaving jewelry all over the counter with punters milling around inside.

I was on his side and stood in a corner keeping a close eye on every one, making sure nothing got shoveled in to a handbag. I think I am now qualified to be one of the bouncers on the door of a Bond Street upscale fashion house.

A picnic supper on the balcony listening to the tennis on Radio 5 Live. Great commentary. Who needs to see it on the telly? On the other hand the Tour de France started today and that is definitely one for the TV.
