I was wakened about 4am by a text message. Parents do not like this kind of thing, especially if the offspring is in Upstate New York.
I staggered around looking for the phone. Yes, it was from Junior. He was thanking me for the postcard from the Faroes.
Work went quite well, although one complicated issue - an incredible bit of incompetence and, I suppose theft, by one of our utility companies - has been testing my good humour. I get angry at what they have done to a vulnerable 90 year old woman whilst getting frustrated trying to understand all the details.
At one stage they were invoicing her for her neighbour’s gas and electricity.
The evening brought preparations for a weekend away, much of it outdoors. Lists.
