The Old Forge (Thursday 11th July 2019)
We spent some time working on the driveway patch yesterday and I said I might blip next these old roses that Refna had been pruning and mulching for some time. I was interested to note how the blooms have different colourings according to their age (another bloom is in Extras). There is a buddleia on the patch planted by my neighbour K. which has a notably different colour to the buddleia variety Purple Prince that I planted myself in the woodland garden in 1996.
This afternoon I toured the garden, driveway and front yard, first with a camera and then with a hose, with Smokey in tow. I blip this rose every year, so here this is its 2019 entry.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Little Feat featuring Inara George - Trouble (2008)
Inara George (vocal) and Little Feat: Paul Barrere (vocals, guitars), Sam Clayton (percussion, vocals), Kenny Gradney (bass), Richie Hayward (drums, backing vocals), Shaun Murphy (vocals), Bill Payne (keyboards, vocals), Fred Tackett (guitars, mandolin, trumpet, backing vocals)
This song from Join The Band was written by bandleader Lowell George for the band's second album Sailin' Shoes of 1972. Unfortunately he died prematurely when his daughter Inara was only five years old. With a life steeped in theatre and music it was natural that she should become an accomplished singer herself with a solo career and also as featured vocalist in a number of bands. This Little Feat album featured a great number of guest vocalists of which the finest is Inara George reprising her father's song Trouble. I listened to it today having read a review of the album in a magazine backnumber.
