A sailing ship in a School doorway

Today California Girl was foraging for Victorian "brown" furniture for a client and we called into a favourite second hand furniture emporium in Anstruther.

Across the road is the original Waid Academy building now up for sale, as it has been replaced by a new Waid Community School building.

It is surprising how quickly buildings, no longer in use, become quite shabby. They need to be infused with the spirit of those who occupy them.

I was attracted by the quite remarkable stone sculpture above the entrance and that is today’s Blipfoto.

The Latin motto is "Many will pass through and knowledge will be the greater".

A somewhat sobering thought for these times.
