Blackheath Beanies out for a drive

The Blackheath Beanies (see yesterday’s blip) decided that it was time to get out of the house for a while, so we headed into Blackheath and on down to Govetts Leap Lookout. It was absolutely freezing and the wind was horrendous. I raced out with my iPhone and took a pano of the view. It’s always spectacular. You can just see the moon in the east.

I have added an extra - it’s a screen shot of the weather showing the temperature just before we headed back home. Fortunately we have a really effective slow combustion wood heater and when we arrived home it was so cosy. We are sitting here at the moment with the lights and tv on by virtue of the fact that we have an excellent generator. We had a blackout at approx. 6.00pm and they’re not expecting the power to be back on until 9.30. I suspect a tree has come down and has caused the problem. I can’t believe that it hasn’t happened before over the past few horrendously windy days.
