Ladies' View

Well that was quite a week! I think we enjoyed it! The Irish language course was incredibly hard work but our teacher, Caithriona, was delightful and so patient, and our fellow students were an interesting and mixed bunch- six Brits, three Americans and a Russian! We had three one and a half hour very intense sessions every day and by the end had ferocious headaches and could remember nothing! Also on offer were talks and tours - the table quiz in Irish was another head-wreck but the seaweed foraging was good. The last night there was a session where anyone who wanted to could sing or dance or play music or recite a poem. Astonishing to see the talent that suddenly emerged. Himself was very brave and read a piece he had written on the Cusán na Naomh, the Saints' Path.

In our free time we walked and explored - quite a few wells discovered - ate very well and enjoyed the delights of Dingle ice cream - should you ever find yourself there I recommend the Dingle gin and elderflower - heaven!
A wonderful day today - we stopped for a coffee just outside Killarney - here's the view. Lovely to be home. I've watered the plants and had a swim and now Himself is preparing for another course starting tomorrow - he's off to Whiddy Island for a travel writing course, part of Bantry Literary Festival which starts tomorrow. All go! I'm having a lie in!

Oh and a bit of a French thing going on today -  passing through Kenmare everyone was in berets and stripey jerseys, a special Bastille day thing, and on arriving home in Mediterranean temperatures we were greeted with a lovely parcel of French goodies from Veronica. Delicious.
