Donuts Etc

Sadly, my uncle Dick and aunt Eloise weren’t able to stay for the whole family reunion and they left early this morning. We took a few pictures before they left for home in Grand Rapids. It’s always hard to say goodbye.

We are a group of about 40 in this family reunion. People went and did a variety of things today, including kayaking, sightseeing, eating and mini-golf. I went with two of my cousins and their wives to Traverse City. We ended up at what was once Traverse City State hospital. This beautiful and historic building as well as many smaller buildings and cottages on the campus are being preserved and redeveloped into condos, an event centre, a few shops and restaurants.

We browsed and made a couple of purchase in the shops before having a very delicious meal in the Italian restaurant.

After lunch we headed into the town centre as we were picking up three dozen donuts from the amazing ‘Peace, Love & Little Donuts’ shop. Each one is individually decorated as they are ordered. In addition to the 3 boxes we took back to the others, we each ordered one ‘for the road’. Mine was ‘Peanut Nutter’ and it was truly delicious!

Once ‘home’ we relaxed the rest of the day. There was a lovely sunset over the water in front of our lodge. See Extra photo.
