The Lozarithm Lens

West Bay (Thursday 18th July 2019)

The Spotlight Kid and his wife provided a fabulous barbecue at their home in Dorchester and then he and I had an outing to the Jurassic coast.
We called at Burton Radstock to see at Hive Beach the other end of the famous cliffs that featured in Broadchurch, and then drove on to West Bay, which we had visited a couple of years before. In the car park we found what used to be the terminus of the Bridport Railway line with a few rails remaining, housing a converted GWR carriage, now Sausage And Pear at the Station Kitchen, and the station building has also survived as a posh-looking restaurant.
We spent an hour exploring the river, the Quayside, the many starlings, a jetty we hadn't walked along before and the shingly coastline. The Spotlight Kid pointed out the chalet overlooking the River Frome where David Tennant's character stayed in Broadchurch.
In Extras are some wildflowers (for Miranda) and a friendly lady enjoying a smoke at the end of the jetty.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Marry Waterson and Emily Barker - Going Dark (2019)
When I got home and was looking through my pictures of the day, Gideon Coe played this track from the new album A Window To Other Ways. Emily Barker is one of the few performers I have seen live in person in recent years (at Westonbirt).
