Flight

Earlier this year, North Lanarkshire Council decided to remove the last of the animals from the paddocks at Palacerigg Country Park. Their decision, it is fair to say, was not well received, especially from those who remembered the days when the park had bison and wolves and all sorts of animals on display.

Went for a walk around the park this evening (see extra) and was delighted to note that the ducks and geese were still able to swim and waddle and fly around at will (main photo). During my walk a young deer ran across the path a few yards in front of me, so the place is not entirely devoid of wildlife.
