William H. Gough

Today I visited Trinity Church in Wicomico. It was established in 1744 to serve the Episcopal community in the Allen's Fresh area. Although I went there to take a photo of the church, the cemetery in the church yard was more interesting as there were many familiar surnames on the graves. In many of the cemeteries down here, there are US and Confederate  flags in the ground near the markers. These two stately markers especially stood out. When I got home I looked up Mr. Gough and found that he was drafted into the Union army. The placement of the confederate flag on his grave is a mistake.
