Wine Tasting

It could have been the south of France.  Regimented lines of vines sitting under the baking sun, on sandy soil, with south facing slopes.  An open bottle of sparkling wine, glass filled, a beautiful lady reclining in her chair, her lips pursed in anticipation of the first sip.

L finally took advantage of a gift of a wine tasting at the Halfpenny Green Wine Estate near Bobbington.  I was designated driver but still managed to enjoy a sip from each glass as we progressed from sparking to white and finally a full bodied red to conclude.  By the end we had a slightly tipsy wife with hiccups!

The hottest day of the year so far (well at least until tomorrow).  As I write this spots of rain are marking the pavement outside and I suspect we will be in for some spectacular storms overnight.  We'll certainly hear them, there is no way the windows won't be wide open in an effort to cool the bedroom.
