Na Gearrannan

For our last full day on Lewis we went up to the north end of the island. We had a walk on the beach at Port Nis before going up to see Dùn Eistean and finally to the Butt of Lewis lighthouse and its amazing cliffs. There were a lot of birds around and I spent some time trying to get some good blips of the seabirds in flight. We decided to go to the Blackhouse village and museum at Na Gearrannan and stopped to see a sculpture of Ravens at Barabhas on the way. The collage is from Port Nis, Shags at the Butt of Lewis and one of the Raven sculpture. The Blackhouse village was excellent, informative as well as showing what a blackhouse was like in the 1950s. The blip is a view from the slopes just above the village to the north.

Yesterday’s blip.
