Afternoon sun

The sun on the floor this afternoon, just before I stepped outside to the garden.

Where it's shaded the soil is wet and heavy. I worked in sand and gypsum. All in good time both will help the soil structure.

I'd noticed a few other places where the soil had dropped and water pooled during last weekend's rain. I added compost and gypsum, and worked it in well. They should drain better when it rains next wek.

That's 2 days in a row where I've worn shorts in the garden in July.
