Tegg’s Nose Country Park

Friday
Back on Tuesday, when we were going over to Sheffield to see my brother and sister-in-law, we had been planning on doing a walk at Teggs Nose near Macclesfield on the way, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Today, however, it was a lovely day, so we did it today. As you can see from my collage, there are some wonderful views to enjoy over the Cheshire countryside. In the bottom right photograph you can see two reservoirs from the summit of Teggs Nose, at a height of 1246 ft. These are Bottoms Reservoir built in 1850, and the smaller Teggs Nose Reservoir constructed slightly later in 1871. After our walk, and our trek up to Teggs Nose from the reservoirs, we treated ourselves to an ice cream/tea and cake in the tea room.
In this blip from August 2010, you can see our son Philip on the same stepping stones, with his Dad and grandad, back in the days when Bernard could still get out walking, which he used to love to do, and he really misses it.
