Happy Yorkshire Day!

Reaching the village on my way to the early morning walk today I was greeted by this sight. Yes it’s Yorkshire Day!
These ribbon development 1930’s houses are above the main road through the village and over 35 years ago we lived in an identical one just four doors further down.

We had a full compliment of ladies and dogs walking this morning plus two men and an extra dog! Lots of chat and catching up on people’s recent holidays etc so a most pleasant walk.
Reaching the feeding station on Coppice Pond there were huge numbers of ducks which, strangely, appeared to be all female. Only one swan arrived and none of them seemed that bothered about food. A sign of the school holidays when the children are up at the pond every day with their duck food.

Later, coming back from a shopping trip, we came through the next village, Wilsden and there were Yorkshire flags everywhere. I’m sure we’re just as staunch Yorkshire folks here in our village but good on the person who put this flag out this morning and gave me my blip!
Happy Yorkshire Day!
