Pete

Pete left to return home to Penarth today. This is a picture of him with his current car, a car he has had for some years, and I have been nagging him for ages to get rid of. The fuel consumption of the car is measured in miles per pint of oil rather than gallons of petrol, most of the former being left in a pool under the car after standing for a day or two.

I believe the mileage is in the high 140 thousands and using the windscreen wipers, lights and radio, all at the same time, is sometimes problematical.

But the good news is that Pete has finally bought himself another car, not another clapped out Astra thank goodness, but a three year old Mazda MX5 sports job with only 12k on the clock. He's obviously not planning on taking more than one passenger, the car is a two-seater, and the flash element is in the hard roof that folds down into the back of the car creating an open top convertible at the touch of a button.

Seven-speaker Bose system, low profile tyres, six gears, bucket seats; family Astra saloon this is not.

I can't wait for his next visit when I can take it for a ride :-)
