Learning Something New

Dear Diary,

This summer I'm trying to learn a new craft, needle felting animals.  I will take a workshop on the subject on August 17th but I thought I would practice a bit first.  This is a Black Cap Chickadee I completed this weekend.  (I've added a wee wren I did as an extra.)  I thought it was fun to put them on old wooden spools of thread as a base.  I have a lot of them from my mother's and grandmother's stash.  My ultimate goal is to needle felt my woodland friends that visit me every day.  Gaylord, Rudy, Rosie and the rest of them.  If I ever find I have to leave this place, I can take them with me, at least in spirit!
