Tarbert

Sadly we only had a short time to spend in Tarbert on our way to Kennacraig to catch the Islay ferry. It's a lovely wee place and I've always liked visiting.

We spent the night up at Achnabreck, near Cairnbaan. It rained heavily and D woke me at 5am shouting that the roof of the van was leaking. It was only a few drops through the back door seal, but just above his head. I gave him Jess's bowl to put underneath the leak and we went back to sleep :-)

The rest of the day was sunny and warm. We went for a walk to see the Neolithic Rock Art and then to the Coop at Lochgilphead for supplies.

There was excitement on the ferry (Hebridean Isles) as the Coastguard helicopter came alongside for an exercise (see extra).

We are on Islay now - D had me drive him along the bumpy road to his favourite spot on the eastern shore of Loch Gruinart. Last year we stood under a full moon and listened to the seals singing. A new exhaust would be a small price to pay for these kind of memories :-)
