Comedy Shakespeare

I'm just home from the most hilarious performance of Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. There was a fair bit of thribbling and creativity within the script but the Bard's weird and plot were loosely followed. All performers are amateurs, although some are well experienced, expending vast amounts of energy. This is the second week of the Pendley Shakespeare Festival - two weeks in August every year - outdoor performances of course with one tragedy and one comedy. Worth taking the time out to visit. The Union Jack jacket is worn by Falstaff - he was superb!

We met with a group of friends for a picnic ahead of the performance which was great fun and lucky with the weather too.

If you are within a vaguely sensible distance of Tring and Pendley Manor, this really is a fantastic priduction. You will laugh a lot!
