Big Dyke

The weather had deteriorated overnight with low cloud on the hills, but it was still dry. We walked from the hut and down the peninsula east of the campsite down to Rubha an Dùnain, where there is an old village, a Viking canal with some nousts, a Dun and a chambered cairn to explore. The views were good and as we set off back it was still dry and we discovered this large doleritic dyke on Creag Mhòr on the way back with the wind tearing the clouds apart on the Cuillins. Shortly afterwards it started to rain, so we got a bit wet on the way back to the hut.

Yesterday’s blip.
