Rhyme and (Sweet)Peas(on)..

It was a very poetic day for me today......a quick whizz round Walter Scott's wee house in the borders, and then an hour with the wonderful Roger McGough at the Book Festival.

I love Mr McGough; he has a delightfully whimsical wit, combined with thoughtful intelligence and sheer daftness....

Some of his poems are very long, and some are just a couple of sentences. This is one of my favourites.....

'I care about the environment, And try to do what is right.
So I cycle to work every morning,
And recycle home every night.'
