Silhouetted sheep

I decided to test out my knee on a gentle walk round Swaddywell Pit, and while it coped, I realised that I shouldn't attempt the much longer walk on rough ground required by two of my upcoming pieces of fieldwork. I may need to delegate the work to the younger generation!

Everywhere was feeling rather autumnal - there's definitely been a significant change since we left for Scotland at the beginning of August. A blustery wind meant that insects were few and far between, but it was good to see a few flowering spikes of Autumn Lady's-tresses and a family of baby lizards. The Hebridean sheep seemed to be very interested in my progress!
