Summer Shoreline

Studying the reedbeds down by the lakeshore and looking for patterns in vertical lines formed by the reeds. They were backlit by the setting sun and so quite dark and graphical. But then the seed heads, I suppose they are, caught my attention and I liked the orange colour catching the light.

Eventually I concentrated on the top of just a few reeds, isolating them with a shallow depth of field that produced a nice out of focus backdrop.

I think the image nicely portrays a summer evening by the water's edge.
