Decline And Fall

Morning light and reflections on still water. I don't often take photos in the morning because I'm not up and active early enough to catch the good light. But today the skies were darker (although the photo doesn't reflect it), causing a spotlight effect on the opposite shore, and that piqued my interest.

I last shot the boathouse in winter and today the early light gives a clear view. Even in the height of summer, the ash trees surrounding the building are without leaves due to the infestation of ash borer beetles. All, unless treated, will die and most are left to topple in their own time.
