The End of the Civil War.....

The surrender to the Civil War occurred at the Mcllean Home in Appomatox.  It is a misnomer that the meeting was at the courthouse.    The courthouse is there and did exist.
The extras....  the stable the horses were in, the road Lee road down, The room where the two generals sat facing each other at small tables.  Grant wrote out the terms of surrender, Lee requested that the officers be able to take their horses home with them to their farms.
I also stopped by James Monre's home called the Highlands, which is today, a historical working farm.  The orginal family home burned down.  The Munroes built a smaller home, intending to replace the house.  The family never did return, as he was in service to his country right up to 6 weeks before his death.
jI am with family tonight, in Williamsburg, so I am making this a short and concise blip.......
