Jamestown Settlement, 1607

Today we all went to the Jamestown Settlement.  It was the first, successful settlement.  The Roanoke settle was tried 2 years previous, but had disappeared.  No one really knows what happened to the people of the "Lost Settlement".  
     Today, we went through the Jamestown Settlement.  We saw and walk on board a replica of the 3 boats that brought the settlers over.  In the extras are pics of the settlement,  the buildings they created, the fortiication that protected them, the native indians village, how they cooked fish over a fire.....,  inside on the Indian houses, made from woven mats, painted and decorated,  my cousin and nephew that were wearing replica's of the armor ( made from tin) that lolled very authentic, but also very light.  The last extra is of a current resident of the settlement that really like to strut his stuff and tell the visitors where to go and not go......
It's very late to post, after a very long day at a fabulous place to visit.   I am off to bed, after getting this done.   Nite, nite!
