Reflections and ripples

Always interesting reflections down at the docks. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting AT.
I made fig and apple sauce yesterday and added some white wine for liquid. Not half bad! No idea what inspired me to try that.
The beets I pickled the other day turned out well too. I remembered having cheese and slice pickled beet sandwiches in Australia so that's what I had for lunch today. Not half bad either!
Waiting for neighbours to come for an afternoon visit with their daughter who's completing her PhD in England. She's a really interesting young woman and we always have good conversations with her. Plum clafoutis and fig clafoutis plus whipped cream, and tea, coffee, or wine will be served. Dessert before dinner - perfect!
