WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A BLIPMEET!

Today was the day for the Blipmeet in Swindon with Evolybab and I had asked Mr. HCB to come too as he is as much part of Blip as I am.

We met C from the station just after 11 a.m. and took her to the area known as Wichelstowe, near to the Waitrose store, which stands on part of the Wilts and Berks Canal.  It’s not the first time that Evolybab and I have met, and as both our sons are living in Vietnam, we can “compare notes” but never seem to run out of conversation anyway!

The area has been upgraded because a new Hall & Woodhouse public house has been built on the other side of the canal so we decided to walk under the bridge and along the new towpath for a while to show C something of the area.  Building work has started on a new Canalside development, which will see many more new homes in the area, so having a store like Waitrose and a new pub nearby will be quite handy for the new residents and there is a wonderful bridge that connects the store to the pub.

After our little walk, we went into the pub to have lunch and very pleasant it was too - of course, the weather was wonderful, which makes such a difference.  I know that Mr. HCB is rather partial to a Badger beer, so I told him that he was welcome to have one and I would be happy to drive - an offer he said he couldn’t refuse!  I decided to make a collage of our day - I think we may be going over to the H & W pub a bit more often.

Rather than wandering around shops or going anywhere else, and as it was so sunny, we decided to bring C back to our home for a drink and just sit and enjoy the garden.  Of course, I often put photographs of our garden on Blip and her comment was that it was good to actually see it "for real".

We had a very pleasant time sitting in the garden and chatting and before long, it was time to take C back to the station, with a promise that I would visit Bath soon for us to have another Blipmeet.  What a great community this is - and it's good to be able to meet so many of those we follow.

In other news, I had a call from the Care Agency this morning and will be meeting one of the Care Workers next week, with my Mum to chat about her Care Package - hopefully we can get something resolved.

Don't walk in front of me;

Just walk beside me and be my friend."
