Day 2, rest!

It is a holiday after all. We are only here for a week, and plan to visit the DDay beaches, and Bayeux, but are in desperate need of rest. Work and doing things on the house, followed by the horrible cold we have all had, has left us with no energy!

Saying that, we needed some provisions (beer and wine mainly) so after a leisurely breakfast we drove to E Leclerc on the outside of Bayeux and spent an hour or so shopping. It is a large supermarket, and it took us a while to find the relatively few items that were on our list. We did spend a lot of time looking at the french equivalent of everyday household things - and just thinking they all seem better than ours! We bought 2 wine glasses and 3 cereal bowls - things we had forgotten- and lots of things that are definitely not on my diet.

After a late coffee, followed by a late lunch, we spent a few hours in and by the pool. Like in the UK the temp has been high today. So it was nice to have a pool to cool off in. There don't seem to be any or many English on this site. That's nice. There are a lot of french - who are quite loud.

Our pitch is nice. Shaded and sunny at all times. We have, however, been invaded by flying ants. We are trying to ignore them, as we can't see their nest.

We drank half a bottle of rose at lunchtime, thinking we would have the bottle of red tomorrow. In the heat, it had other ideas, and the cork half popped itself out, through the foil! So after a camping meal of flavoured rice, sweetcorn and bacon, we are now trying the very warm red wine, and eating peanut flavoured crisps - a must on any holiday we have ever had in France! We have ordered our croissants and bread for tomorrow. They will be delivered to the camp shop. Then tomorrow afternoon we will venture to Port en Bessin...after a lazy morning in camp.
