Capital adventures

The end is nigh!

No time for a swim as I had to be on shift just after 10. It was warm and sunny all day and with it b being the last weekend of the Festival the town was hooching. We answered a few questions and failed to answer a few more.

After the shift I went up to Le Bistrot in the Institut Francais for lunch. Great food but abysmal service. Some staff training clearly required. And we won the rugby.

Then off to the Pleasance for a great hour with the Rev Richard Coles. Very entertaining. Unfortunately it started and finished late so I had to fight my way through the crowds in the Cowgate to get to the Usher Hall. Made it in 20 minutes.

It was the second Orchestra de Paris concert, Britten's 'War Requiem'. Stunning, sublime, emotional.

And luckily there was no repeat of last night's stramash for buses. Only 3 minutes wait for a #47.
