St George's Hall visit

A friend offered me the chance to go and see the Minton tiled floor in St George's Hall in Liverpool today. The floor is normally covered and is unveiled from time to time. It really is very beautiful - this picture doesn't do it justice. Fortunatley the 30,000 tiles were covered in the 1860's to allow dancing and so the colour and design has survived well.
