Wedding Week - Rydal Inversion

(Monday 26th August - Back blipping)

I'm finally catching up on the week's photography.  After this morning's walk around Rydal Water and up to Loughrigg Terrace I knew I was going to struggle to do justice to the images I'd taken in the limited time and equipment I had available.  I was aware I had a developing problem of dust on the sensor and so have waited until we are home to process the images.  It meant I could give all of my attention to the family holiday which was full of activity and socialising.  It was quite liberating to put Blipfoto on the back burner for a few days.

The walk that morning was truly special.  It started with mist shrouding everything around.  After a day and a half of persistent rain, followed by a warm and sunny late afternoon on Friday, I was very hopeful of misty conditions and it didn't disappoint. I'll just say it was one of those mornings where choosing one was almost impossible.

I even watched as the inversion over Grasmere finally went from thick blanket over the valley to clearing completely.  I tried a time-lapse video on the camera for the first time, only to find afterwards that the lens had fogged up in the centre during the time I was shooting.  It was so frustrating!

We spent a delightful late morning and early afternoon walking around the lake, before watching England-Ireland in a sports bar.  Then it was off to Lucy's in Ambleside for another family meal - a truly special day amongst many in this week.
