Normal Service

The Blip is part of my walk to work in the morning. It was an omen.

The day went well. One colleague stayed away. Another took the prescribed medication. The rest of us held our collective breath, but apart from an occasional sweary word all was calm.

By the time I was heading home I had a real weekend buzz starting. Even the smell of Junior’s ice hockey kit just inside the front door of the house could not bring me down.

Part of it is knowing I have an escape this weekend, even if it is very short and not very far. Beyond that it is only 2 weeks until my September holiday, so I can feel it getting close.

The evening will be lazy. Radio nan Ghàidheal’s Rapal, and I have new library books to dive into.
