kicking up the dust

backblip

Today we moved on from our lodge on the banks of the Zambezi, Our room had been the lovely round building in extra. We travelled by road on the Zambian side of the river until we reached a crossing point where ferries were busy linking the passage of lorries between Zambia and Botswana. An amazing sight of acid tankers coming into Zambia and copper going in the other direction. We avoided most of the border chaos with an arranged private boat taking us across to the Botswana side where we were met by another driver who took us to Kasane airport where we picked up our small plane for the 1 hour journey to our first camp in the Linyati area. We eventually arrived in our new surroundings and settled into our huge luxury “tent” . Camping like this is a pleasure, see our bathroom in extra. We were even greeted by a little bee-eater.

The first afternoon game drive highlight was a huge herd of about 1000 buffalo kicking up the dust, quite a sight.
