Walking the Doggy

You know there's nothing like giving someone a responsible job for them to feel all grown up and stuff. William walked Basil on a short lead today.

We'd been for our regular walk round Kirby Muxloe Castle this morning. The heron was in attendance (see extra). I do need to take a longer lens another time.

Not too many at Mummy Meet this morning but those of us who were there enjoyed sitting in the sun and chatting. The new manager has had all the play equipment removed because of HSE issues. Even so, he was there this morning discussing the provision of new equipment with a company rep. Whacko.

Getting to Leicester had been a bit of a nightmare. Work has started, sort of, on Junction 23 of the M1 and is scheduled to continue until 2021. Cutting the lanes of traffic down has led to unprecedented congestion. I had to turn right around on Ingleberry Road to backtrack west reaching the outskirts of Coalville. Traffic was still queuing on Ingleberry Road when we returned from Leicester this evening, because drivers are following diversions. Google maps were essential to check traffic flow.

We, that is Len, William, Basil and me went to Mosaic Shoes in Barlestone this afternoon. Len wanted some light canvas shoes. I saw a magnificent pair of winter boots. I saw, I wanted, I bought.
