the lightship relief

My grandfather, Gordon, was a lightship sailor on many vessels permanently moored off the Massachusetts coast. One of which was the Relief, WLV 613, which had various names and moorings. He made this model to pass the time, in what I remember hearing was an empty green prune juice bottle.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and warmer.

We mostly celebrated with little paint action yesterday at the studio, but here are some shots of my painting mates . It was J's birthday so of course we celebrated with a proper cake. B's grandson R opened his Christmas gifts, one a camera popular in the '60s that I found for him from the Vermont Country Store catalogue.
