Blakeney Boats

A very dull day today, with no detail in the sky, so I've tried to go for a 'faded photo' style of the boats at low tide at Blakeney this morning.

G & I were there for a U3A talk by Sir Norman Lamb, our MP who has recently decided to stand down at the next election. He is very well respected locally, particularly for his work around health and social care. It was an excellent and thought provoking talk and the area will really miss this hard working and balanced MP who looks for compromise and collaborative working. I'm sure he attracted more votes for him as a person, rather that the party he represented. He plans to continue to support and campaign around the topic of mental health.

I do believe that social media is polarising opinions so much that it's making it very difficult and stressful for good MPs to perform their job.  I'm also concerned about the impact it's having on who is now attracted into the world of politics.
