Blue Doors, Orange Brick

Dear Diary,

Mary and I spent the afternoon in the twin cities of Bidderford and Saco, Maine.  Once the textile weaving capital of America, it is enjoying a renaissance.  The Saco Museum gave us a history of the "Mill Girls" (my first job at 14 was in a mill operating a machine!) and we had a lovely lunch at the Portland Pie Company and then an ice cream sundae at Sweet Cream next door. Both establishments use locally sourced products.  I loved the minimalist quality of this image and the dramatic perspective of the extra.  There was a stunning mural nearby, also an extra, and surprise of surprises, a unicorn enjoying an ice cream cone.  Will wonders never cease!
