A NICE SURPRISE....

.... well another warm day with still NO Rain... BUT, I did see a Black Cockatoo fly over late this arvo squawking as they do, and normally you only see them before rain, so fingers crossed.

Anyway, back to this arvo and the visit to the dam. Found this Pacific Black Duck flying in and having a good ole swim....

Then as I walked up to the end of the dam could hear this brilliant singing! Not a familiar sound, so went to find the culprit!

Spotted two flitting back and forth low down then here it was singing away, before taking off again.

Then spotted this little one sitting in a spot of sun in the shade of a tree. With the shutter speed hi and auto ISO the effect I thought was great.

Now to ID what they were. After some check I think we have it right as an Australian Reed-Warbler? Well, they were in the reeds, the singing was same, and they look the "money", so another first for me.

Enjoy and have a look in LARGE and if time check out the others on FLICKR

In particular all the mates over "the ditch" I New Zealand.... have look at this one!

Have a good weekend, and go the Aussies in the cricket.
