King of the Mountains

We went to see the Tour of Britain pass through our local area this afternoon.  The finish is not far from home but we chose the top of Frizz Hill which was an opportunity for the riders chasing the King of the Mountains classification.  Considering this is a serious hill for a recreational cyclist they were hardly blowing as they passed us.  The peloton were not wanting the leaders to get too far ahead and were close behind them.  Given that the TV bike is right behind the leaders, we might be on TV tonight :-)

In the extras I have one with the Race Leader (in the Green Jersey) Mathieu van der Poel and Mark Cavendish.  Also the Lantern Rouge - although I wouldn't say there was any more room for the peloton to bunch up tighter than it was.  They were definitely not hanging about!

This year, the race is quite well balanced,  Mathieu van der Poel leads by just 12 seconds from Matteo Trentin who is clearly intending to race to the final line in Manchester tomorrow. Both of them come over really well in the post stage interviews too.
