Went up to the Methodist hall early on to discuss joint site entry and contribute a few bits, and also enter a few individual classes. Then back to Leith to meet up at the market with D & L who are visiting from Oxford - they had already found the Pie Dolly stall and secured a pie to take out to Mr H tomorrow. Mid-afternoon and I had to repeat the tedious bus journey (lots of delays and long waits) but arrived in time for the prize-giving, when we found that our joint entry had won first prize! And not just a certificate, but £25 and a large silver bowl that's gone off to be engraved! (See extra).

I also won a first place for some red chillis that I'd grown on the bedroom windowsill and a second for a pair of rather untidy looking neeps (the latter were the only entry in the neep class, but still only came second!!).
I can just see them both in this shot taken during the prize-giving, chillis just beyond the courgettes on the left-hand table and the neeps in their solitary splendour just beyond the huge leeks on the right.
