Wound up in Wexford

I presume this is some form of chrysalis/cocoon but I don't know what particular moth or butterfly may be developing inside it - if anyone does, I'd be happy to have an answer.

We spotted it when transplanting some red hot pokers into our new bed, and the extra shows it in situ, after W cut back the surrounding foliage, leaving just the ones to which it was attached.

We've made progress on our new bed today, transplanting the red hot pokers as mentioned, but also some agapanthus, and other plants.  We also lashed out on some salvia at the Pensthorpe Plant day last weekend, and have added these to the bed.  And lots of daffodil and tulip bulbs.

It now looks pretty full (second extra) - and with a bit of luck, should look good next year.

Clearing some of the agapanthus gave me a space to plant some colchicum bulbs that TonyG kindly gave us on his last visit.  And the space where we removed the red hot poker is begging for a shrub - we just have to decide which one.
