#WeareIslay

I was at the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay today to chair another ferry summit in co -operation with the Islay Community Council Ferry Committee.

It was a productive meeting that agreed a clear manifesto for change and moreover did so with all the key interest groups, including Cal Mac and Transport Scotland as well as many users , sitting round the table. Getting the ideas implemented with urgency will be hard but today was a significant step forward.

Bruichladdich kindly let us use their Board Room and laid on a soup and sandwich lunch plus lots of coffee.

And as usual their imagination and style impressed - this poster for their impressive new campaign fills a whole wall inside the distillery square where visitors park. It certainly draws the eye.

As it was a ferry event , and a day of travelling on ferries, I thought my extra picture should be of one - the little , Council operated, ferry to Jura almost side on to the strong current in the Sound this afternoon.
