Red-knobbed Coot

We spent the morning and early afternoon at the Parc Natural de s'Albufuera de Mallorca--a large marsh ca. 30 minutes from the hotel. There was quite a lot of walking, the weather continued in the  80s 
(F; nearly 30 C.) The water which our leaders carried along was in great demand. We saw several of these coots which occur only in Southern Spain and a portion of Africa. Another bird of note was the marbled duck, which also has a relatively limited range.

Mea culpa:  I left the blip unpublished before going to bed, and discovered it only the next evening.
