Riding the Waves

After a good night's sleep, we were up and out by 11am.  We had to go Anne's to collect Sherbie, but before we did we drove to Shoreham beach and had a stroll to Lancing.  It was a lovely warm day, but quite windy, so perfect conditions for the kite surfers and there were lots of them in the sea.  After my attempt at paddle boarding, I really appreciate how difficult this must be and love to watch them.

We got to Anne's about 2.15pm but didn't stay long as Alan wanted to get back to cut the hedge, however it took a while to get home as there was a Brexit march along the seafront so the traffic was quite slow.  It's also the Labour Party Conference in Brighton this week, so as you can imagine there was a lot of police presence.

By the time we'd got home, the wind had died down considerably, so we sat in the garden and then Alan went to do his jobs then once he'd finished we retired to the Palace.  Our appetites are not quite back to normal with the time difference and jet lag, and although I'd bought fillet steak for dinner, Alan didn't fancy it and neither of us knew what else we wanted, so we ended up driving to the chippy and getting a large portion of chips together with a steak and kidney pie and gravy, and we shared this.  It's very rare that we have a chippy tea, but it hit the spot and we really enjoyed it!

We stretched it until 10pm but then had to go to bed as we were falling asleep - we need to be ready for work on Monday!
