Looking back

This year has seen me complete 25 years of continual service at Salford. So at the forthcoming Spirit of Salford awards I am in for a pat on the back :-)

I had been asked if I would mind being interviewed on film. I said OK, so that took place this afternoon. I do not like watching myself on film (in fact, I find it excruciating), so watching this in a large packed room is going to be nerve wracking. But hey ho.

Filming took place using this Canon DSLR camera. Not unlike my own DSLR, which (as I keep saying) I need more practice with. A pastime I enjoy, but not enough time to extend my learning at present.

A bit later I saw lots of young students from the University Technical College (for 14-19 year olds) at Media City, also all with Canon DSLR’s. The UTC specialises in digital and creative skills, and the 40 youngsters out and about were learning photography. . As someone whose schooling involved inkwells, I find myself amazed at the tools for learning available to youngsters now.

So this mono Monday submission covers two bases. Past times, and pastimes.
