Miss Boggart

What a contrast with yesterday's blue skies. Heavy rain overnight and through much of the day. But no matter, we had planned a day in as we had lots of things to sort.

A brief trip out to Risley Moss mid afternoon. We looked at the plans for the new observation tower in the visitor centre, planning permission has recently been granted. The old tower was burnt down by kids who broke into the reserve two years ago, so it going to be built of steel, not wood. And in a new location. The old tower stood on the site of a refuse dump for the bomb making factory which preceded the housing estates and business parks at Birchwood. OK in the 1970's when it was constructed, but modern environmental regulations mean no foundations into the nasties which lurk under the ground.

Boggarts have appeared at the reserve this year. I wouldn't want to meet this one in a dark alley.
