Teesside & Cleveland

We stayed overnight at Newton Aycliffe and then journeyed home via Redcar, Saltburn and the North York Moors.
The weather was unbelievably different to yesterday.  Today was bright and sunny, with a very fresh breeze.
We had a walk along the sea front at Redcar - with a backdrop of the Teesside Wind Farm - 27 turbines - opened in 2013 (see 1st extra).
Then along the coast to Saltburn-by-the-Sea which is a lovely seaside town. For me the highlight was to ride the Saltburn Cliff Lift down to the Pier.
The Cliff Lift was opened in 1884 and is the oldest operating water-balance cliff lift in the United Kingdom.  I loved it.
My 2nd extra shows the lift as seen from the bottom terminus.
